A BRIGHT AND SHINY MOMENT - THAT DID NOT LAST!

It was a chilly frosty morning.  Sky was overcast, but suddening the sun popped out and made the far shore come alive with color. Love to catch the moments of beauty every once in a while.

Yesterday was a rainbow type of day!

MY FALL VIEWS

LAKE MICHIGAN

This is one of our local lighthouses. It is at our public beach here in Ludington, on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan. There is a long pier going out to the lighthouse. It is a favorite walk for people to take while here in Ludington. Also is a favorite place for fisherman. When the wind is blowing it can also be a dangerous place to walk. A young man was knocked off by a big wave last week and no one could save him.

Lake Michigan has been quite dangerous this year and needs to be respected for its power.
Six people have lost their lives in Lake Michigan at Ludington just this summer. In all the great lakes, many more lives have been lost this year. Very sad way to end a vacation. Please be careful and watch out for bad weather, large waves and rip tides.

MOST BEAUTFUL DAYS

We have been having one lovely day right after another around here. Could actually use some rain. There is a slight feeling of fall in the air. Omen of things to come I suppose.



















Mr and Mrs Swan have been bringing their young ones by everyday and eagerly look toward my house hoping for some handouts. They are not babies anymore tho.

Also Mama Duck is bringing her tiny babies around also. The baby ducks seem way to small for this time of year. But what do I know.

My friend took me out on her boat this morning and thought our heads might blow off. It was very windy out in the middle of the lake. But we made it back safe and sound, but with pretty funny hairdo's. Actually it was a lovely ride.

MR SWAN

We have been feeding swans in front of our place since 1978. Have boxes filled with pictures showing members of my family feeding Dad, Mom and baby swans all these years. In my mind they have always been the same Mom and Dad. Hey they look like the same swans year after year.

This year I was distressed because I was only seeing the Dad around here. I was out cleaning my porch one morning and he was hanging around out front, so I went out and fed him. That afternoon he returned with his mate and 3 baby swans in tow for me to feed.

A couple of days later I looked out and had about 7 Candian geese on my front lawn. Now I have nothing against geese, but I really do not not care for their "do do" on my lawn. So I hollored at them and they did not move, so I banged my flip flops at them. They did not move. So... I walked toward them and they started to move slowly and at last went into the water, only to hang around as if saying, we will return once she leaves. I glanced out on the lake and suddenly saw Mr Swan, who was in the middle of the lake, swimming a bee line toward me. He got here in seconds and flew at those geese chasing them away. My hero, my watch dog swan!! Who knew!
